Whose Who?

okay, so clearly I'm not very technologically savvy - and it's clear to see that I can't even scan a picture in correctly - but I thought it would be cute to show the comparison in our "3 1/2" year old pictures. Audrey and I are exactly the same age in these pictures. You'll have to double click on the picture of me to make it bigger - but I think we look related at least... ya think? :-)

It's funny how Meagan was able to capture so many different moods within such a short period of time... Audrey is such a little actress - she would have posed all afternoon!

My sweet girl had to show her beautiful self off too during Olivia's photo shoot. I will have to upload a picture of me at this age... she is definitely my kid!

Olivia lost her belly button on day 13... Audrey didn't lose hers for 5 1/2 weeks, so it was nice to finally give her a "real" bath.

Welcome baby Olivia Kate Herman! May 8th!

Olivia was born this Friday, May 8th at 3:47pm at the Birth and Women's Center in Dallas. She was 7lb 8oz, and 19 3/4 in long! Labor began with regular contractions that morning around 11 am - while having breakfast at IHOP. When we got home at noon, we called our midwife and she said that since we lived so far away in Keller that it would be a good idea to drive in just to make sure. When we got there, I wasn't quite ready to have a baby - but on my way! We were sent to the park to "walk" and that is what we did for at least an hour. Around 2, we came in and sat on the birth ball, listened to music - breathed through some strong contractions and went to walk the park again! around 3, we came in and had a sandwich and a fruit cup... gatorade and some more contractions followed. At 3:30, we all made the decision to break my water. I was dilated to a 5 at this point...
At this time, I began having "real" strong contractions and they filled the sauna bathtub for me. This was helpful, but I was still in a great deal of pain from the contractions. At this point, I felt the baby coming and after about 2 more contractions (17 minutes after my water broke), Olivia was in my arms for the first time. Jason was able to deliver her (catch her) in the waterbirth. It was pretty much amazing. Thank you for all of your prayers for a "fast" birth. That is exactly what happened. We think she is beautiful, and a mini me of Audrey when she was born.
We were home that evening by 10, having pizza and watching TV as a family! ha!

Nursery... May 15th is right around the corner!

33 days left... give or take...
We are all very excited about Olivia's arrival! I should probably go to bed and rest before she gets here instead of updating my blog at 11 o'clock at night!

Olivia Kate"s Nursery... SO CUTE!

Happy Easter

We had a wonderful Easter... we enjoyed a church service on Saturday night - and had family time with Robbie and Heather and her family on Sunday afternoon.

Audrey had fun at the shower too!

We had friends from near and far that came to the shower. Audrey was super happy to see some friends that she had not played with in a long time! A special THANK YOU to Riley, Chelsea and Megan for coming ALL the way across the metroplex to play with Audrey at the shower! and Mommies too!! It was great to see all of you!
My parents were also able to come from Albuquerque to the shower. They had so much fun helping us to set up the nursery when we got home! SO EXCITING!

My amazing shower!!

What a blessing it was to be at a new church, and to have such an amazing, wonderful, sweet shower. Olivia received the nicest gifts to decorate her room, wear, and to play with, that I have ever seen. What a wonderful day. Thank you to all of my new friends who went all out to make a special day for our familY!

Megan and Audrey

A few days later, Judy and Megan traveled to Keller to see our new house, and to play at Chick Fil A - just like old times. It was wonderful to see friends over spring break... !!!

Audrey and Emma

Audrey and Emma got to meet once again during our Spring break at Chuck E Cheese... We LOVE seeing you Crystal... we have to find another time soon!

Grandma and Grandpa visit

Grandma Wendy and Grandpa Jerry came to visit last month! We had so much fun!

Audrey's photo shoot with Abby

Abby Hunt spent the night with us to play with Audrey and watch her while I was at work Saturday. We met her parents half way in Dallas at the Anatole so that neither of us had to drive so far... Abby took the cutest pictures of Audrey playing on the front lawn.

Turning 30 wasn't so bad...

On March 2nd, I turned 30.... and on that particular day I had the flu... It's a good thing that I have the most amazing husband in the world because he threw the best surprise party in the WORLD the weekend before my birthday.

Jason had planned a getaway weekend for us, and even had an all night babysitter (Laci Butler, isn't she the best!) for Audrey. Jason took me to Rockwall to spend the night in the new Hilton on the Harbor. (this is the part that I knew about...) When he got home from "shopping" (he had actually spent the day in Rockwall at the Hilton decorating a party room), he told me that I needed to change my clothes because we were going to have desert at a restaurant in the Hilton and I couldn't wear the jeans and t-shirt I had on. Glad his fashion sense is better than mine... So, I changed my clothes at the last minute, packed Audrey up to go to Laci's and headed out to Rockwall for our fun overnight.

When we checked in at the Hilton, we headed up to our room... but he stopped at the double doors next door to our room and opened the doors up. I was confused since this clearly was not our room, but I immediately saw in the darkened room - cameras flashing, streamers flying and heard people yelling "Surprise". Being pregnant and somewhat emotional.. and just being me... I totally cried. I was in such shock that I was shaking and was just completely overwhelmed with how many of my friends had come to party.

Jason themed the party "friends" and had Meagan Block (www.meaganblock.com) come to take professional pictures of the evening with themed "friends" (the show) pictures. I have never in my entire life felt so special and loved, and I will forever remember what a fun night that I had with all of my best friends. To all of you who took time out of your busy schedules, sick kiddos and jobs - THANK YOU for making me feel like the most important girl ever. For a minute, I was no longer pregnant and tired, but I was happy and thrilled to be hanging out with friends again. I really miss all of you ... even though you're just across the metroplex from me.

Thank you to Audrey for helping Jason decorate my party room and being such a good girl! And for keeping the "secret birthday surprise" from me all day long. I love you Jason, thanks for making me feel so special. I love you!!
